SonicWall VPN Stuck On Connecting / Acquiring IP Or Connected But Unable To Access Destination Network
SonicWall VPN stopped working / not connecting
There are few common issues, please follow below steps to fix your issue
(1) Disable Antivirus and check, because antivirus is common cause for VPN issues.
Still not working ........ try next solution
(2) Open SonicWall VPN Client
Go to General and put check mark on "Restrict the size of the first ISAKMP packet sent"
Click Ok
Still not working ........ try next solution
(3) Uninstall SonicWall VPN Client then restart your system, once system will be up reinstall with "Run As Administrator"
Try now hope this will fix your issue for connecting and Acquiring IP
If VPN is connected and unable to access remote servers/network
i.e. Unable to take servers RDP
Solution:
Add manual route to your system with below command
Open Command Prompt Run As Administrator
route ADD destination-network MASK subnet-mask gateway-ip
How to check?
Open Run window by pressing Win+R key
Type ncpa.cpl and hit enter
Double Click on SonicWall VPN connection
Click on Details and you will get the information what IP is assign by VPN
Source Add you have which you are trying to connect.
Let say i'm taking a server RDP post VPN connected 172.16.6.25.And gateway IP i have as found in above steps.
My command will be
route add 172.16.6.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.18.80.1
You need to type network address as i mentioned 172.16.6.0
Now check, hope you are able to take RDP now............
Note: Once you are reconnected VPN, each time you need to follow these steps.
