How To Reset Windows Administrator Password

 Lost Your Windows Administrator Password? ?




Please follow below steps for Windows 10 or any of Windows server to reset it if forgot

I will help you 





Solution :





To perform this you will required a windows bootable DVD or Pen Drive.

Please see my blog How to create a bootable pen drive.


Boot your Laptop/Desktop from Windows OS bootable pen drive


Once booted you will get below screen



Press Shift+F10 to open command prompt from here



type notepad in opened command prompt and hit enter key

X:\Sources>notepad



Notepad program will be opened.

Then Go to File and Click on Open



Go to "C:\Windows\System32" location



Click on All Files bottom of the screen

Find Utilman.exe and rename it to "cmd1.exe"




Same way find cmd.exe 




Rename it from cmd.exe to utilman.exe



Now rename cmd1.exe to cmd.exe


Remove the bootable drive

Restart window normal without bootable drive

Once you will get the user login screen 

Press Windows Key + U and you should get a command Prompt. If the command prompt doesn't appear, press alt+tab as the command prompt may appear behind the logon screen.


WARNING:
If you reset a users account password. This will permanently lose access to the users encrypted files. Be sure to back these up.

Once command prompt will be opened

follow below steps as per your requirements..........

(1) To change existing user password

Type below command to change existing user password

Let suppose  kamlesh is the existing user name.

net user <username> <new password> 

net user kamlesh Password$$

(2) To create new user with admin privilege's 

net user <user name> <password> /add

let suppose i want to create new user kamlesh.gaur

net user kamlesh.gaur Password123 /add

To add this user in admin group type below command 

net localgroup administrators kamlesh.gaur /add


Now again boot your system from windows bootable CD/DVD/USB drive and open command prompt  

Pressing shift+f10 from below screen



Now change cmd.exe to utilman.exe

And Utilman.exe to cmd.exe



Close everything and boot your windows normal and you will see the new created user in windows logon screen...........
